The 2017 Bethlehem Memorial Day Parade will step off at 11am on Monday, May 30 from in front of the Nathaniel Adams Blanchard Post of The American Legion, corner of West Poplar Dr. and Elsmere Ave.  The parade marches Elsmere Ave. and turns right on Kenwood Ave. to a left on Adams Place and then a right onto Adams Street.  The route then turns right onto Delaware Ave. to the reviewing stand at Veterans Park next to Stewarts.  A ceremony is held at Veteran’s Park immediately following the parade.

For the past five years we have published a Memorial Day Parade Honor Roll.  The book is published in full color and contains historical information, business advertisements, memorial ads and information helpful to both veterans and non-veterans in the community.  In the past five years the proceeds from this book have helped us donate nearly $30,000 to non-funded veterans programs at the Stratton VA Hospital and other local veterans programs in the area.  Please help us make this year’s Honor Roll a continuing success.  Here’s what you can do to help:

• If you own a business, support the Honor Roll by advertising your business.

• If you are a descendent of a veteran, place an Honor Roll ad in his/her memory.

• If you have a non-veteran family member who is deceased, place an Honor Roll ad in his/her memory.

• If you know someone who owns a business and may be interested in supporting The American Legion, or if you have any questions, please call Janet Morris at 461-6811 or Barry Bedrosian at 437-1199.

Advertising forms for both business ads and memorial ads are available at the Blanchard Post.  They are located on the small table right inside the lounge door.  Advertising forms are also available for download at the bottom of this page.  Deadline for advertisements is April 15, 2017.

There are only two words that describe the meaning of Memorial Day:  “Thank you.”
